What we do
We administer our own puppy shots. Due to the essential nature of the puppy receiving the full dosage (properly administered), we recommend being trained in this simple procedure. By the time each Golden Retriever puppy leaves us they will have had their first vaccinations (Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Type 2 (CAV-2) , Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. We worm our puppies at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks with Pyrantel Pamoate and at 8 weeks. We give them a final Safeguard treatment before going home. All our puppies are given a preventive coccidiosis treatment with albon. They then get a final check up from the veterinarian where they are given a heart and full body examination. There shot and health record will be provided.
Socialization starts at birth and should not stop until the dog is well adjusted. As puppies become older they are taken out to play with children and interact with older dogs. When the puppies reach 4-5 weeks old, they can begin receiving weekly visits from their new families. It helps puppy’s socialization that introduce new people to them. The puppy socialization is very important for your dog's obedience training. It is trusting foundation on which your dog will learn and grow. This is one of our favorite parts. Our family, friends and neighbors’ kids love to hold, nurture and play with all our little angels
